Welcome to the Europeanisation
History Network
“(De)Europeanisation and History: Concepts, Conflicts, Cohesion since 1890” Our
network was established in summer 2006 and is sponsored by the German National
Research Council (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) and the British Arts and Humanities
Research Council. It is institutionally based at Humboldt University Berlin and
at the University of Oxford. The Europeanisation History Network aims at developing
and elaborating a historical concept of (de)Europeanisation as a heuristic and
analytical tool reflecting the complexities, contradictions and frictions of
Europeanisation as a historical phenomenon.
